Guided by our design expertise and an obsession with best use of space, we create floorplans for our clients homes that fit with who they are and how they want to live.
We know that creating each home floorplan to best fit our clients, is what inspires the confidence and enthusiasm our clients need to go ahead with a home project.
TEAM
Founded in 2018 by Hazel Irvine, The Design Bothy is a solo owned architectural studio. Our work is rooted in collaboration with other local Architectural specialists, and is dedicated to providing the best possible service to our clients.
While the floorplan + design vision for each project is delivered by Hazel, a carefully selected team of collaborators undertake the building warrant, construction information and on-site coordination depending on each projects needs. For larger projects, a specialist planning consultant is brought in.
The Design Bothy's collaborative ethos ensures our clients gain from vast collective expertise.

With a gentle and kind approach, each floorplan is rooted in uncovering what truly supports the way our clients want to live.
The design thinking is filled with curiosity. The driving force is to provide our clients with clarity and confidence in a floorplan that best fits their unique values and desired lifestyle.
As designers, we also have the responsibility to ensure each space is designed to a standard including that it is usable, accessible, functional and takes account of structural considerations.
